        HOW TO SELECT A PLASTIC MATERIAL TYPE FOR YOUR APPLICATION

Include as much information about the application as possible in your (RFQ). 
There are many different formulations of any particular material. 
The more understanding we have about the application the better we can make the right plastic material recommendation.

The following questions should be asked when selecting a plastics material for any application.

  1. Pressure and/or Vacuum –  How much?
  2. Colors – Clear, Transparent, etc.
  3. Operating Temperature – High and Low temperature range?
  4. Regulatory compliance – FDA, NSF, USP Class VI, 3-A, USDA regulations, etc.
  5. Chemical or fluid contact – What types and percentage?
  6. Hardness – Flexible, Semi-rigid or Rigid
  7. Weathering conditions  -  Ultra Violet UV for out doors environments
  8. Engineering Life -  How long do you need product to last?
  9. Packaging – Cut length, Bulk Loose Coils, or Reels
